Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
The purchasing process was straight forward and price for the coverage chosen was fair. Fortunately I did not have a need to use the insurance policy so I cannot truly rate satisfaction. The satisfaction rating would be applicable if I actually need to use the plan. I would use Insure My Trip again.

Not the cheapest, but a national well-known name and customized for cruise vacations. We purchased the cruise care Nationwide policy, which we have purchased in the past for other cruises. However, this time the trip was rerouted right before we left. We filed the claim for itinerary change. It was all filed electronically, with an automated response. We didn't hear anything regarding the claim for weeks, so wasn't sure what the status was, which I did not like. But in a few weeks, we received compensation that was exactly as stated in the policy. Other than the lack of status updates, we are very pleased with this policy - will definitely purchase again!

"In the event a Cruise makes a Change in Your Trip Itinerary prior to Your actual departure date we will pay up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage.
Change in Your Trip Itinerary shall mean the Cruise has a documented change of Port of Call from the scheduled itinerary.
Verification by the Cruise of the change in the scheduled Trip Itinerary will be necessary for claim payment."

Fortunately we did not have to use the insurance for this wonderful trip. However, peace of mind was important in case we needed the coverage. We have previously had a trip planned where we had to use our trip insurance so we always buy it for big trips.

The contract certificate was poorly written (as also pointed out by a attorney friend), requiring me to rely on Insure My Trip (IMT) staff to clarify what is covered and situations when those covered events are not covered. Please note that while staff at Insure My Trip believed the legal stipulations were clear (since the IMT staff repeats them everyday), the contract was confusing and poorly composed for the customer. Glad that my trip went well and that I did not have to file a claim.

My luggage got lost on the way home but arrived 2 days later. I didn't file a claim but I had peace knowing if anything happened on the trip I'd be covered.
