We have been buying travel insurance for years and this is the first time we needed to use it. My husband bought the insurance in April and then, totally out of the blue, had emergency open heart surgery on May 1st. Total shock. We had to cancel his trip. I filed a claim, but heard nothing back. I waited about a month. Finally, I called. I was told some pieces were missing. I did not feel as if the representative cared about me and actually I felt that he was hoping I wouldn't do the right things so maybe the claim could be denied. It was an airline ticket only that we were claiming. The rest of the money was returned by the tour company. After I asked him to please help me with all of this, he did not do so. I finally asked to be transferred to another person which was dicey, but they did it. Eventually, we received reimbursement for the airline ticket.

Luckily we had no claims. For the price afforded the coverage was excellent. The initial purchase was easy and the follow thru by your company was also right on. I had my daughter, an attorney, review the policy prior to purchase and she gave it a thumbs up.

While I am satisfied with the plan, I did have a problem at the time of purchase. I was not told the upper limits of the plan and when I received the final cost of the trip, the plan I purchased did not cover the total cost of the trip, so I had to purchase another plan. I was refunded the initial cost and things worked out, but it would have been easier if I had been made aware of the total cost limits.

Entering the full cost of the trip will reveal two important things: a list of plans that are available to cover the full cost of the trip, and the premium of the policy after all trip payments have been insured.
