Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
I was disappointed because our trip was delayed one day due to the death of my grandma. Her funeral was the morning we were supposed to leave. Leaving that morning would have got us to the Virgin Islands that afternoon. Since we could not fly out until the evening, we had to stay the night in Charlotte, NC and pay for a hotel there on top of the one we had already paid for in St. Thomas. We had to pay $900 to change our flights. We missed a full day in the Virgin Islands. Our trip delay coverage we were told would not apply because our flight leaving Kansas City was 11 1/2 hours later than the original and it needed to be 12 hours later.

First of all, we would like to express our condolences for the death in your family. We can certainly understand the disappointment in having to delay your trip. We also understand why you did not file a Travel Delay claim since your actual delay was only 11 1/2 hours which was less than the minimum 12 hour delay as required by your policy. However, you may still be eligible for some reimbursement under Trip Interruption coverage, so if you change your mind and decide to submit the claim, please call your Seven Corners claims department at (800) 335-0477.
We did miss the port of Nassau Bahamas due to hurricane damage from Mathew, but the cruise line did reimburse us for port fees and nothing else was covered under the policy that would warrant a claim. Glad we had coverage for the trip as things could have gotten much worse and more expensive.

Overall plan benefits seemed to be good. Fortunately we did not have need to use them due to weather or health but we felt comfortable knowing coverage was there in the event we had.
We were however disappointed in the fact that an agent told us there'd be no compensation for a change by one of our air flight segments that necessitated us arriving a day earlier to catch the last flight to our final destination. We incurred a hotel stay and meal costs out of pocket.

Claim has been settled to my satisfaction. They were prompt, professional, and courteous. They asked for appropriate information and documentation and we received payment within six weeks of notification of settlement. All in all, painless and satisfactory.

My grandmother had a great saying. "If I buy travel insurance...then I am sure to stay safe and have a great vacation. My kids could never be so lucky to be the beneficiaries of my demise" I think some of that stuck with me!

Process of buying plan was straightforward and efficient. Web site was good to navigate. Coverage was what I wanted and price was slightly less than I had been paying for similar coverage from another company.
I did not need to file any claims, so I do not know how that process is with the company, but the rest of the process was positive and painless.
