C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Lite
Due to a medical emergency the day I was to leave, I was unable to make my trip. I contacted Travel Insured International right away to learn what information they needed for me to be reimbursed for my trip cost. I sent in all the information and waited ... and waited ... and waited. I got no reply that they had even received my documentation. I called them and was told they had received it, but that it would take up to 15 business days to be processed. I had already been most of that. I called back in a few days and was told they were waiting on information from the agency I purchased my trip from. I contacted the agency, and they had NOT received any request for information. Another call back to C & F TII and I told them the agency had not received a request. A few days later, the agency contacted me that they had received a request with a plan number, but no name was attached to the request and they had to ask me if that was my claim. They promptly sent the information to C & F TII and copied me on it. I contacted C & F TII again to see if the information had reached my file. I was told it had not and that it might take 5 - 10 business days for it to do so. I started calling back every other day to check on my claim. I guess they finally got irritated with me and just processed my claim and sent me the money. It is ashamed that I had to do all the follow-up to make this happen. My airline miles were credited back to me with just a phone call (10 minutes). Royal Caribbean credited back three excursions that I paid for in advance, but did not take (because I didn't make the trip) within 3 days. Another small policy I had through American Airlines with Global Alianz responded within 2 days and made a payment immediately. I was very unhappy with the service I received from C and F Travel Insured.

We buy trip insurance every time we travel and thankfully, have never had to use it. This trip I tried to use it as the flight we were booked on coming back from Spain was overbook. We could not get on. All our luggage was on it's way to the USA at that point!

I called to see if the travel insurance could help us and was informed I would have to pay for everything up front and file a claim. It would have been nice if we could of at least shown receipts and our credit card credited. We were talking about $1,000.00's of dollars, with air fare etc added to our personal account after spending 19 days away.

Just seems like there should be an easier way.

    Thank you very much for your excellent suggestions which we shared with iTravelInsured. Although there is always the possibility that the travel insurance industry may adopt similar ideas in the future, at this time travel insurance plans offer trip protection on a reimbursement basis which require that you pay up front and submit your receipts for reimbursement at a future date.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
I was on a Crystal Cruise tour in Jerusalem and had an accident while trying to deboard the bus . My right arm hit the door arm as I fell back while trying to exit and had to avoid people walking right where I was about to step. I immediately had a plum size bump on my arm and the internal bleeding caused about 1/3 of my lower arm from the wrist to the elbow to bruise and swell. I applied ice and saw the ship's doctor that day and every day after until disembarkment. Upon return I saw my PCP and had x rays and while medicare covered most of the treatment, I expect that I'll have to see the doctor again as the lump is still the same size a month after the accident. Since this was a Crystal sponsored tour , my medical treatment on the ship was covered. I thought that my insurance policy would cover this claim and was informed that it doesn't. Since I've never filed a claim, I am now wondering if I needed to spend $1600 for this policy.

Thank goodness we didn’t need to file a claim, but the policy covered us as we needed, was easy to read and understand and was reasonably priced.

A friend of mine was hospitalized on a cruise ship for one day and was billed $19,000. A medical occurrence can happen to anyone. It’s beyond foolish not to buy trip insurance. I’ve always been satisfied with InsureMyTrip policies. Signing up is easy and the prices are reasonable. It’s a peace of mind thing. I strongly recommend this company.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Luxury Cruise
We had no issues on the trip so I can’t give a higher rating answer as to how satisfied I was with the plan because no claims were filed. I do recommend trip insurance for the unexpected. One of the couples with us while we were checking into our hotel in Barcelona had a large luggage suitcase stolen from the lobby at the check in desk because there were many people checking in and they took their eyes off their luggage for a few precious moments. They had purchased trip insurance.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Universal Cruise
Insurance provides peace of mind. This policy provided coverage for cancelled shore excursion that we almost needed but the tour company refunded our money. The ship was not able to dock due to weather conditions.

I buy trip insurance all the time, especially for a big trip. I don't have any real comments, because luckily I did not have to use / file a claim. However, it is always nice to have.
