Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
This was my first trip out of the country since I switched to Medicare for health coverage. Medicare does not provide any coverage outside the US. Previously my employer -sponsored health coverage provided emergency care out of the country. Fortunately I did not have to use the plan but wanted the reassurance to know it was there if I needed it.
I liked the communication provided by the company just prior to my trip with a link to the policy etc.
I will use this same plan again for future trips.

I didn't need it. I hoped it would have worked if I did need it. My husband was in an accident less than 48 hours before we were to leave for our trip. His car was declared a complete total job. He got a bit banged up and was extremely sore the first 24 hours but fortunately felt better the next day so we went! I tried to find as much coverage as I could get for the price. That is important because none of us plan on canceling a trip when we buy coverage. I buy it because I have aging parents though, ironically, it could have been my husband's accident that might have made the insurance necessary. In other words, buy something. You never know if you will need it.

I didn't need to use your insurance coverage but was relieved to have it since I developed a problem back in June, after I purchased the plan, that made it iffy up to the last minute whether or not I could travel. I fortunately could travel. I plan to use your plan again next spring.

Did not have to use - but would want to know ahead of time if luggage is lost - it is a HUGE process to file a claim...must itemize everything that was in your bag, along with receipts for everything in your bag or if no receipts you will have to spend hours researching possible replacement costs and submit those print outs.....thank goodness my son's bag showed up.....but probably not worth it in the future for us - as the lost baggage piece was one of the most important to me. However, it did give me peace of mind for overseas travel - but likely will not buy again.

Beware of this company !!
They promise to process claims within 30 business days. After the 30 business days were up, no response from them. I had to escalate the issue with Insuremytrip customer care.

Thank you for submitting your review. April Travel Protection has advised us that you did not submit receipts with your claim. Since the incurred expense was minimal, you indicated that the provider does not typically provide receipts. You were also unable to provide them with a copy of your credit card statement so April Travel Protection denied your claim.
Of course, we never wish to hear that a claim has been denied. However, verification of payment is a requirement of the claim process for all companies including April Travel Protection.
Please call InsureMyTrip at 800-487-4722 if you do find your receipt. You can always re-open your claim.

After further review, this claim was not submitted in a timely manner by a customer service agent who is no longer employed at APRIL. Our team requested for your claim to be expedited by our adjustors and it was processed in nine business days. During the claims processing time of nine days, our adjustors submitted an Items Needed letter for the receipts of the purchases made while the luggage was delayed. The receipts were not supplied, which resulted in a denied claim.
Per the policy terms and conditions, “All claims must be verified by the Common Carrier who must certify the delay or misdirection and receipts for the purchase or replacement of necessary personal effects must accompany any claim.
