Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
My trip consisted of two segments, one where we travelled on our own and then when we started an organized two week tour. I bought this plan to cover my personal self directed travel, and in conjunction with a separate insurance plan to cover the tour offered by the tour operator at a very good price. I always buy my trip insurance through Insuremytrip as you never know when you will need it. Then you hope you are actually covered and or reimbursed without a huge hassle. The only time I actually filed a claim, the process was so bad I dropped my claim. On the trip that I am reviewing, I did not file a claim and so I have no idea whether the International Medical Group iTravelInsured SE plan was good or not. But I had the peace of mind knowing that hopefully I was covered.

I had to extend my stay with two days and called to extend the insurance coverage,of course for an extra charge.To my surprise I was told they were unable to offer that.I was shocked when they also declined to sell me a new policy for the two extra days.I think it is very rigid and customer unfriendly.For that reason,I will never use Generali again.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, with any Comprehensive plan, after you leave home the plan cannot be extended. The Generali Global Assistance Premium plan offers extension of coverage in the following event:
"Extension of Coverage
All coverages under the Policy will be extended if your
entire Trip is covered by the Policy and your return is
delayed by unavoidable circumstances beyond your
control. If coverage is extended for the above reasons,
coverage will end on the earlier of the date you reach your
originally scheduled return destination or seven (7) days
after the Scheduled Return Date."
In the future, if you are extending a trip, please call us at 800-487-4722 and we can go over any available Single-Trip Medical plans for the additional dates that you need coverage.
Thankfully you were able to enjoy your travel and had no need to file a claim.
Please keep in mind that Comprehensive Insurance plan premiums are generally based on the 3 main factors; (1) the ages of the travelers, (2) the length of your trip and (3) the total cost of your prepaid non-refundable trip cost.
Also keep in mind that your health care coverage you have may pay for any medical travel expenses. Check with them before you purchase any trip insurance. Depending on the airline they may provide some relief to air travel getting home.
I really have nothing to compare this to. This is the first time I purchased trip insurance. The person I spoke was helpful and guided me through the process and what needed to be covered and why. I would use Insure My Trip again.
