Filed a claim after a flight was canceled and we had to purchase a last minute more expensive ticket on another airline. Generali paid the difference between the two tickets. They approved the claim in one day and we received a check two weeks later. My advice is to send ALL documents relating to the claim even if it seems redundant.

We had high hopes for this plan. The initial customer service was helpful and professional. We had to cancel the trip because of an accident and filed a claim. Although the claim was processed fairly, it took about three months to get the refund. There were no additional questions asked of our medical providers and we did receive our full refund, but it took so long that I would seriously consider paying more to a different carrier.

A couple of weeks before I was to leave for Italy, the doctors discovered I had lung cancer and suggested I cancel my trip as they wanted to start treatment immediately. I notified AXA to cancel my trip and it was done right a way. Filled out proper paperwork and after several months, I received my refund check. I would definitely recommend this travel insurance. They kept me updated as to the progress of the check. Will use this insurance on any of my future travel experience. They were wonderful. I thank you AXA!!!

I'm happy I didn't have a claim, and was more reassured about the company when I traveled through Italy to find that Generali is a very big insurance company. I had a drink right across from their offices in Orvieto. I would use them again.
