I made a mistake and bought for another trip an insurance plan offered by the vendor, unfortunately had a loss. This was over 60 days ago, still no resolution .
Will stick to you guys!

While the coverage was good and the price was reasonable, I did have one problem with them. When the tour company changed our departure date to a week later (same company, same tour, same price), the insurance company required a lot of documentation before they would agree to change the coverage dates.

While I did not have to access the plan, it was comforting to know that I had coverage. Two students did have to go to the hospital while there. I hope they had coverage even though costs are quite different in Japan.

Two big problems:
- I called twice to clarify if a family member’s illness would be a covered item. I got two completely different answers on the two calls. This directly impacted my decision whether to proceed with our trip or not, so having inconsistent responses is unacceptable.
- On my first call, when I asked if my situation would be covered, the rep said she couldn’t tell me for sure, and the only way to find out is to cancel the trip, submit the claim, and then see if the claim is approved or not. That places the insured in a horrible position of risking thousands of dollars in travel costs if the claim is ultimately not covered.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn that you are dissatisfied with the service you received. We strive to provide a superior level of customer service, including interpretation of travel insurance benefits and exclusions. While we cannot predetermine the outcome of a claim, we aim to provide a clear understanding of what travel insurance is designed to cover.
C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Lite has the following number one covered reason to cancel or interrupt your trip:
"1. Your, Your Family Member’s, Your Traveling Companion’s, Your Traveling Companion’s Family Member, Your Business Partner’s or Your Business Partners Family Member’s death, which occurs before departure on Your Trip;"
The claims administrator is required to adjudicate claims based on the terms and conditions of the policy. Unfortunately, in no event can a claim be predetermined, as you would be required to provide Proof of Loss to determine appropriate coverage. This plan does not include a Pre-existing Conditions Waiver and in the event of a claim there would be a look back period of 60 days that applies to You or Your Traveling Companion, Business Partner or a Family Member.
We understand that the claims process can be frustrating and we would be happy to speak with you further about your experience and/or provide any clarification of policy terms and conditions. We do want you and fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
