Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
The purpose of trip insurance is to provide peace of mind; we all hope to never use it. I purchased my policy six months before the trip, paying extra for Cancel for Any Reason and am glad I had it and never used it. I was reassuring to have this coverage with the Covid virus still an issue in some places.

Fortunately, we did not need to file a claim. We purchased this plan as it was highly rated for covid benefits, and that was our major concern. The price was somewhat high, compared to suggested prices on other sites, but comparable when the time came to purchase. Overall, I am satisfied and will continue to use Insure My Trip in the future.

As with all insurance, as we purchased this policy trying to determine what is and isn't covered isn't clear. The only thing we wanted was "pandemic related trip cancellation" coverage (i.e. personal health/isolation, health of other passengers on trip, international travel restrictions/closures, multiple venue closures of major itinerary highlights).
Trying to make sure we had the coverage we "needed" was harder than we would have liked as the language isn't straightforward, which makes it seem like you are leaving loopholes in the policy that will result in disputes.
Luckily we didn't need it.

I purchased this plan in November 2019 for the entire cost of my trip. On February 20 I filed a claim on line because no one would ever pick up the phone. I stayed on line for hours. During this time I was very persistent and continued to follow up with trying to get refunds from the carriers and all vendors, was able to receive refunds on my own. However, some companies would not refund any money. I continued to try and contact C&F thru emails and by telephone and one day actually got someone on the phone who claimed to to be a supervisor. Went over everything with her and she required additional documents of which I had previously sent multiple times. I waited months for any answer. I emailed and called this person and it always went to voice mail. I left lots of messages and never received even one response.
I finally reached out to NYS Dept of Finance who licensed this company. Within days of filing a claim with the state the were sending me my settlement.
It took filing a claim t with NYS to get a refund. Too bad that they do not send you a breakdown because they did not send the entire amount. Need to threaten to go back to state until they paid in full.
Will never use this company again.

They state on their website they are refunding for canceled trips without claims due to Covid. It is been 10 weeks and I have not received anything except excuses. I will not purchase from them again.

I am happy to see that Nationwide did refund your premium. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic and current climate of traveling this request did take much longer than usual.
