The airline cancelled my return flight to Miami when the airport closed due to Hurricane Irma. Got stuck in Prague for 4 days until I could get another flight. Filed a claim with all my receipts, flight cancel notice, etc. Took about 2 months, but they reimbursed me for everything--hotel, meals, transportation to the airport. No hassle at all. Will use them again, and would recommend them to my family.

Did not need to file a claim, but I cannot place a price on the peace of mind that having trip insurance gives me. If you are spending thousands on a trip, a hundred or so to be covered in case of unforseen events is so worth it. Like all insurance...you hope you never need to use it, but if you do, it's nice to know that it is there. I have used this company before. They explain what is covered, what options are available and they are reasonably priced. I will continue to work with them in the future.

This is a review of Trutravel Insurance Company. My name is Steve. I don't write many reviews, but had to write this one. Don't pay attention to reviews from people who never filed a claim. This is about an actual claim.
About six months ago, I had a new laptop stolen from my hotel room in Eastern Europe. I notified Trutravel of the incident after I got home, expecting that they would find a loophole to delay and avoid paying the claim. Instead, I promptly received a courteous call from a very professional representative requesting documentation. She clearly explained what she needed; I then submitted the documentation, and was promptly reimbursed for the full value in about a month. I highly recommend this company and have already used them again.
I extend my appreciation to Insuremytrip.com for providing a way find the company, and especially to Trutravel for not jerking me around.

I did not have a claim resulting from this purchase, so really don't have experience with how well it covered my needs. One thing is a bit puzzling, is that I purchased from Nationwide because the foreign medical coverage was in the 10's of thousands of dollars, whereas most competitors were covering that at about $5,000. What was the reason why the coverage was so different, and was I over-buying in purchasing from Nationwide?

While this policy does provide a high dollar amount in coverage for emergency medical, we also offer options with more coverage or less coverage than this plan..
