Once again we did not need to use the insurance but, it feels real good knowing it is there. I have filed a claim only once in the last ten years. It was paid as filed in about two weeks after the paperwork was submitted.

It turned out our insured River Cruise in Europe was cancelled 15 days before the departure date due to low water levels in the rivers we wold be traveling on so we didn't use the insurance from Generali. We were able to get full refund of the insurance cost . All correspondence via e-mail with Generali staff and refund of the
cost was done expeditiously and without any problems.

We purchased this plan for a trip we were planning to go on in Germany. The trip involved a river cruise on the Rhine River. Five days before we were to leave, we were notified by our travel agent that Emerald Waterways had notified him that the trip was cancelled due to low water levels in the river. We received a full refund from Emerald Waterways for the trip, a refund from British Airways and Emerald Waterways is covering the penalty for cancelling the flight. The only money we are out is what we paid to you to cover a trip that never happened. We contacted you and were told that we could use the insurance for an alternative trip in 500 days. Our trip in 2019 is already covered and we cannot travel during the time period that we would still have your insurance. It is ironic that the one thing we bought to cover us if we had to cancel our trip or had a snag in our trip is the one thing that is costing us money when the trip was cancelled by the cruise line.

I filed a claim for an interrupted vacation due to a cancelled flight. It took 4 days for it to be assigned to an adjuster but once that happened my out of pocket expenses were reimbursed promptly.

I had no claim per se, but needed help when my traveling companion lost his passport. Luckily I had a working phone with me so I called to ask "now what?" I was terrified because not only might I miss the cruise, it would be hard to get a replacement because I'm changing locations almost daily. The representative I spoke with seemed to be unsure - as if this the first time someone has lost their passport. She said she would call back with more information. Later she did but only said "I found out you need to locate a US embassy. There is more information I'm entering in your record so you should call us back for it." Why in the world did she say I had to make another call to get it??? Is she charged for the length of her phone calls...or monitored by how many calls she takes in a day....or what? The only good news is that the following day the passport was found and turned into the lost and found at the train station.

I bought this insurance way back last Fall 2017. I am getting older with a failing memory to what i had done or where I even put my notes. I had to go to my credit card bills to find the phone number, call and cross check what I had done. I would suggest that as trip time approaches, an email from you telling me what I had done and that I WAS insured with you would have been VERY HELPFUL! Even two or three reminders asking if I had any questions or concerns like 3 months in advance, two months before and then a week before.
