We were delayed in reaching a vacation spot by 24 hours due to the airlines cancellation because of weather. I called InsureAssist to see if they offered help in re-booking flights. Found out that they did not offer this service but I did have trip interruption insurance. I should keep the bills for extra cost ect. and submit a claim. Submitted a claim for a hotel room and the loss of a night in a condo. Paid my total request in less than two weeks. I learned that I needed to kept the credit card statements that I paid parts of the vacation with. With a little digging I found these. In the future, I will assemble these in my travel folder. This company did everything you want an insurance company to do: paying the claims in a timely manner. I will use this company again.

Weather was a concern prior to and during the trip. We had to de-ice in Dallas. We were able to make it to our destination with only an hour delay, thank goodness! It was a comfort to know I had a good policy if things had gone awry.

Unfortunately I did have to file a claim for the trip I had insured. My father was hospitalized and I had to return early. The claim was easy to file - the supporting documentation required was reasonable and easily obtained. I called for clarification on some things with the claim and the phone support was great.

Good Luck,..No claim this time.. Previous claim required patience and diligence to get it paid.. I am an insurance agent and knew what it took to get the claim paid.. I had to explain to the claim representative how they were responsible for the expenses.

I smashed my big toe on the first day of our cruise. We did not bring the whole policy with us because it is so big. I didn't know what I might have to pay if I went to the ship's doctor, so I didn't go. When we arrived in Hawaii, I called your customer service line. After speaking with your agent, I was still unsure what charges I might have to pay. I'll be seeing my local doctor tomorrow. It is my fault for not familiarizing myself with the policy coverage before we left. I wish there was a way to outline the coverage in a more user friendly manner.

There was nothing wrong with the insurance plan, yet it is expensive to buy considering the exposure for the insurance company is small since a vacation is a narrow time span to cover for something very specific. The chances that a traveler would actually use the insurance seems remote.
