Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Thank goodness I didn't need to file a claim, but I am glad I found this insurance. I don't usually book travel through an agency. My boyfriend and I had pieced this trip together with many flights, trains, and buses. It was good to find this insurance to cap it all off.

When I purchased this plan, it appeared to be a good value for the money in comparison to other plans available, and covered the contingencies I thought were needed. Thankfully, I did not have to file a claim, so I cannot judge my satisfaction well. The ratings are based on the assumption my claims would have been honored.

We did investigate numerous providers and thought that your company offered reasonable coverage for the price paid. It offered us a feeling of security while traveling without it taking to big a chunk out of our pocket book.

I bought coverage for Cancel For Any Reason. I later read the policy, it only provides coverage for cancellation caused by an event which is not otherwise covered. The title suggests that you can choose to cancel for any reason. The actual coverage would require proof that is was compelled and you had no choice. This is very misleading and deceitful.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. If you meet the requirements for Cancel For Any Reason, and you pay the necessary premium to add it on to your policy, you can cancel your trip for any reason to be reimbursed 75% of the prepaid and non-refundable trip cost. When using Cancel for Any Reason, AXA Assistance USA does not require the customer to disclose the reason they cancelled the trip, and they do not require proof of the event which caused the cancellation. Any reason not otherwise covered by the plan, literally means any reason. If you cancel the trip for a covered reason under Trip Cancellation, and you prove the event, reimbursement is 100% of the pre-paid and non-refundable trip cost.
Here are the requirements for the Cancel For Any Reason benefit on the AXA Assistance USA Platinum plan:
"This coverage is Optional and must be shown on Your Confirmation of Benefits.
If You are prevented from taking the Covered Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this policy, We will reimburse You or Your designated representative for 75% of the prepaid, forfeited, non-refundable Payments or Deposits for the Covered Trip arrangement(s), provided the following conditions are met:
(a) this coverage is purchased within 14 days of the date the initial Payment or Deposit is paid and You insure the cost of any subsequent arrangement(s) added to the same Covered Trip within 14 days of the date of Payment or Deposit for any subsequent Covered Trip arrangement(s); and
(b) this insurance coverage is purchased for the full cost of all non-refundable prepaid Covered Trip arrangements; and
(c) You or Your designated representative cancels the Covered Trip no less than 2 days prior to the Scheduled Departure Date.
This coverage will be terminated and no benefits will be paid if the full costs of all prepaid, non-refundable Covered Trip arrangements are not insured. Any premium paid for this coverage will be refunded."
