The plan appeared to be very good. Naturally, the only true evaluation of an insurance plan is if one has to file a claim, which I did not require.

It was comforting knowing that many of the costs of the trip were covered in case of cancellation or delay. The medical portion was especially important and we saw an example of why on our flight home. A fellow passenger had fallen and broken his leg. He was in a cast from waist to toe, unable to bend the leg at all and was booked in economy. Fortunately, first class was not full and the crew accommodated him in a first class seat. What a disaster if that was not an option. It's not just the $ lost if something cancels the trip but the unexpected while on the trip that also needs coverage.

Thankfully, we did not need this insurance on our trip. The coverage and customer service was excellent, even when we added rental car coverage. However, the cost did seem high amounting to nearly 10% of fixed trip costs. It’s the old adage, “It’s expensive until you need it.”

Despite having not to use any of the coverages we bought, the feeling of security and awareness that you have insurance plans to cover for our travel were tremendously satisfying. Obtaining the plan from Generali were easy, a click of your computer mouse and you are covered (with payment of course). What impressed me was their immediate respond to all the queries I have, their timely communications with me and their follow ups about the plan. They even welcome us back after our trip, a gesture we have never received from other companies were we bought similar insurance plans from our previous travels. We will definitely get our future travel insurance needs from Generali. Thanks you!
