I purchase an emergency cover insurance plan for myself and my two toddlers, 2 and 4 years old for our 1 month vacation to Brazil.( from Global Alert) Unfortunatelly I had to use the insurance with them both . They got a very bad Virus during our vacation and the yougest even end up a few hours at a local hospital for tests and hydration. As soon as I came back to the US I filed the claim which was pretty easy. It took 1 month for them to send a response and the money for the claim. They used a very high dolar conversion and paid me less, $100 pretty much, than I spent in Brazil ( I had to pay the hospital and doctors bills in Brazil and they refund you here later, next time I will choose a plan that pays the expenses for me. ) but overall I am happy that I got this insurance, without it I would have spent much more. You never buy an insurance expecting to use it, but it is very necessary especially when travelling for long periods with kids.

I had to cancel this cruise due to medical reasons with my wife and they were easy to work with and reimbursed us our claimed amount without any problem. Cancellation costs were over $8,000 dollars and they gladly paid us promptly/ I'm so glad we had the AXA insurance.

I was not able to receive a Visa for Brazil in time for my cruise. Therefore, I had to fly to Buenos Aires which caused me to miss several days on the cruise. I had to pay for a new airfare and pay $744.00 for an air cancellation fee. (**first flight) After calling about my trip insurance coverage none of it was covered. Wow, very disappointing!

As you discovered, there is no coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption or Travel Delay if you do not receive your Visa in time for your trip which is why there was no reimbursement for your increased costs. In the future, you can read through the covered reasons to cancel or interrupt your trip in any plan on our website by first comparing your quotes then clicking on the dollar amount of Trip Cancellation coverage.
