I hurt my lower back the week before my planned scuba diving trip. I reviewed the American Express Global Travel Shield plan details and it looked like I would be covered for cancellation. I ended up making the trip. I didn't dive but had a good time with friends. It was very reassuring to have the insurance and know that if I absolutely could not make the trip I would get my investment back.
