Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
It is hard to write a proper review if you did not use it. I was fortunate that I did not have to use it, but it gave me the peace of mind knowing that if something had gone wrong I was covered. It was a well-rated plan, covered all of my concerns, and was recommended by Insuremytrips - who was recommended by consumer reports, so I thought it was worth spending a little extra just in case.

The claim was received on 11/4/21. It took 3 months to be paid. I sent several notes to check on it & got replies back that it was in line. It finally came back paid today. Paid well. I had sent in lots of documentation.

The pre-existing condition coverage was hard to understand. I don't understand what the first date of purchasing my trip and the last payment I made had anything to do with a pre-existing condition.

If you wait too long, or on some plans purchase after you have made your final trip payment, coverage for pre existing medical conditions will no longer be available. You must buy travel insurance soon after your first trip payment/deposit in order to meet the deadline for qualification. Typically, the requirement is anywhere from 10-21 days after the deposit. Hard to write a review on something you never used, but I suppose that’s the idea of having insurance right? The cost and coverage seemed reasonable but I guess I’ll never know if I wont be filing a claim. It was good to have the piece of mind though.

This was the most generous plan that covered both Illness of a relative and illness of a pet cat or dog. However, I was very distressed to find out that pre-existing g conditions would not be covered AFTER I paid the balance due since it was more than 2 weeks after the initial trip payment (i.e., the deposit) to the tour operator. If it said that anywhere it certainly wasn’t obvious.
