Thankfully we don't have to use the plan, but we are just not certain if this plan is right for a cruise and with all the stops it has made or at sea. It's priced right for us and all the verbage at first glance says we're covered. But knowing the insurance industry and all the particulars needed to be met to be eligible for a claim is not in our domain. We saw someone in a medical evacuation fly out using the US Coast Guard in the middle of nowhere and we definitely hope it will never be anyone one of us. The marketing or plain English is still not plain enough.

We would also like to apologize for the unfortunate circumstances that led up to this review. When you notified us to revise your policy to cover a different trip, we followed TravelSafe's standard procedure for transferring coverage which included advising TravelSafe that you incurred a penalty. TravelSafe, along with most of our companies, reserves the right to decline to cover the new trip if there were any penalties so they declined with no offer to refund your premium. However, you diligently pursued coverage and TravelSafe agreed to cover your trip.
Once again, our apologies for the difficulties that arose.
Windstar cancelled the cruise so I had to cancel the policy prior to the start of the trip. The cancellation penalty was outrageous. I was penalized 90% of the premium.
