I experienced a sinus infection on the cruise and it was necessary to see the ship's doctor which resulted in a charge for his services. Upon contacting Nationwide I was told it would be necessary to document denial from my primary care policy before I could submit a claim to Nationwide. Primary care company said Nationwide would need to submit the claim to them so I received conflicting information. The charge was minimal but the amount of paper work involved is a hassle. I feel for someone who would be dealing with a serious, stressful problem.

The system requires me to rate my satisfaction with the plan. The plan said it provided the coverage we wanted and like all insurance we bought it in case we had a problem. However, because we did not make a claim under the plan I don’t know how well it would have handled a claim.

Every encounter with the staff was great and they were very accomodating. I only encountered a little bit of difficulty when I had to add a few days to the end of my trip for coverage. It just seemed it was difficult for the phone representative to find the right carrier of my insurance. But once he did everything was fine. I would definitely recommend this company.
