Unfortunately pets are not considered family members for the purposes of insurance. One of our cats had to have surgery a few days before our trip and we were faced with having to lose all of the money for our trip or pay to have the cat stay in the hospital, which was an added expense and very stressful on the cat. Insurance companies should realize that animals are family members and include them as part of the coverage with proper documentation from a veterinarian.

There are 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider as follows: Purchase the policy within 10 - 21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 hours prior to the departure date. Fortunately we did not need it, but we felt assured that things would go smoothly if we did. We would by all means recommend Nationwide Ins. for your travel ins.
