Thankfully, we did not need this coverage. However, another passenger on our cruise ship became quite ill and had to be taken to an island for treatment. It was another reminder of how quickly things can change in paradise. We were relieved to have this insurance even though we did not make a claim. Will not travel without coverage.

Great price compared to the cruise lines. Was able to add my air fare and other pre-paid items. I didn't file a claim so I don't know how they respond and compensate if required.

Didn't need to use it fortunately so can't comment further. Be aware though that if you book it after final payment of cruise you don't get all of the benefits ( Pre-Existing Conditions Waiver, Cancel For Any Reason, Trip Interruption For Any Reason-Return Transportation, Financial Default and Cancellation for Work Reasons).

I've always purchased my travel insurance through Insuremytrip. They make it very easy to filter and compare plans. Luckily, I have never had to use my insurance though so I cannot comment on the claims process.

I advise thorough research before purchasing travel insurance. It is likely you already have similar coverage through various credit cards, home owner's insurance, and other sources. This plan did have some cruise specific safeguards built in for peace of mind; however, it is secondary for medical, and a few plans offer primary.
