The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
I did not file a claim so do not know about your response in time of need. I can say that the information provided pre-trip and the written documentation I received were very adequate. The price was competitive for the coverage I wanted.

Vacation is about having a good time, exploring or just relaxing, however, we all know how stressful it can become if schedules are altered or worse, if one becomes sick or is injured. If you like peace of mind this policy is great. Days before my trip I was faced with a threat that would have cost me my entire trip. Fortunately, I was able to go, but had I been unable to make it at least my cost would have been refunded. During my trip to Jamaica I kept saying to everyone that I had insurance so if something happened I would be in good hands. Save yourself the stress and spend a few bucks to protect yourselves. Besides, aren't vacations supposed to be that way?

We needed to cancel my trip under the "for any reason" category and received 75% of our cost back in under 2 weeks. Of course, 100% back would have been completely satisfying, but just having the assurance that we weren't losing all of the trip cost was fantastic. I will definitely use this company in the future when I travel.

I thought an insurance plan was to protect against unplanned situations. If I had been sick before the trip the whole trip would have been covered. I got sick while on the trip the night before I had booked a rental of a motorcycle and could not go. Keep in mind you need to be physically fit to ride a bike. They (motorcycle rental company) did not refund my money so obviously I thought that this would be covered by the insurance I purchased. It wasn't, so I am disappointed on the coverage of this policy. Too many restrictions and gimmicks in my opinion.

Very dissatisfied with the customerservice of the plan and how they were handling my case. They asked in addition to the claim package to sign additional forms, then they started to send letters asking for more redundant information. Getting in-line to talk to representative on the phone takes 10 mi, there is no shortcut if you call second time. They called my travel agent 3 times. I needed to call insurance agency at least 6 times. I filed a claim 3 months ago and I still didn't get my money, although I provided legitimate medical information. I will not recommend this plan to anyone.
