I haven't had to file a claim with RoamRight, so I don't know how easy their claims processing is. What I liked about it: My family's original European trip dates were for July and I had to change my trip dates to May. RoamRight did not charge me a fee when I switched my dates. I will highly consider using this company on my next overseas trip.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The RoamRight Essential plan offers Trip Cancellation for covered reasons such as an unforeseen sickness, accidental Injury or death of you, or your traveling companion, or family member. Trip Cancellation coverage is in effect until the trip departure and reimburses 100% of the pre-paid and nonrefundable trip cost insured. However, the Essential plan does not offer the optional Cancel For Any Reason benefit. The RoamRight Preferred and Elite plans do allow you to add on the Cancel For Any Reason benefit if the plan purchased within 21 days of the initial trip payment and the trip is cancelled more than 48 hours prior to departure. Cancel For Any Reason reimburses 75% of the pre-paid and nonrefundable trip cost.

I feel weird reviewing this since I didn't end up using it, but I guess it was nice having the peace of mind that my trip was insured. I would pay more attention to the reviews of people who had to use their insurance though.

I love being able to have a good, comprehensive plan for our trip insurance and love using Insure my Trip. I felt the price was a little high, this time, for a short, inexpensive 3-4 day trip, this included a short Bahama cruise, which was why it was more, I was told. We have about the paid the same amount for more expensive trips to Europe for 6 weeks or so, but from a different insurer that Insure my Trip used. All in all we had a great time at our family reunion and felt secure while we were on our trip!

As you indicated, your policy premium has increased since your trip to Europe in 2013. However, your premium increase is directly to related to your ages. Policy premium is based on age of traveler, cost of trip and the length of trip. Since each company sets rates according to an age range, your premiums have increased as you moved into the higher age range. For example, you may qualify for one rate between the ages of 51 to 60, but upon reaching age 61, your premium would increase. Age ranges do vary among companies so it would be best for you to call us for competitive quotes prior to purchase.May 05,2016
