Offering the highest coverage limits of the three plans provided by John Hancock, the Gold plan offers the most included coverage as well as optional upgrades. This plan offers Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption, as well as many other coverages including Missed Connection and Itinerary Change. These coverages could come in handy if a covered common carrier delay causes you to miss your cruise departure or if your travel supplier changes your covered trip itinerary after your departure date.

The claim was handled very quickly and our check was in our mailbox in just over two weeks. The amount of the claim was correct to the penny. OUTSTANDING!!!

Fortunately, we had a good trip without incident that required an insurance claim. The only comment I have is that I would have liked a clearer summary of the coverage and proof of coverage that I could have traveled with, instead of a thick sheaf of documents that would not have been easy to deal with in the event of an emergency. Perhaps a wallet card, with all the relevant information?

This plan provided a number of additional coverages (i.e $50k for rental car) that were not included in competitive offerings, at essentially the same price. We thought it was a good value.

It gave us peace of mind that in the event of illness or some unforseen problem, we could recoup our trip price if we couldn't go. In the event of an accident, our expenses would be paid. In the event of tragedy, our family would be taken care of financially.

The trip was good, knowing that in the event something happened it would be covered, put my family and i at ease. My flights in China were never on time, which did cause me to have to get a hotel overnight. The room cost was only $ 35.00 USD. Not enough to file a claim

One thing that should be noted is that we chose this plan because it had car rental insurance that was not necessary as Hertz in South Africa includes an amount in the daily rental for insurance with no option to exclude their insurance. Fortunately it was not necessary but still annoying to pay double!
