Thankfully, we didn't need it, but we don't leave home without it, especially for overseas trips. Medical evacuation is phenomenally expensive and we have known people who were bankrupted by the cost. I had always used a travel agent. Thus was my first online purchase. Almost too many choices, but knowing the high limits I needed for medical evacuation, I was able to sift through it pretty easily.

After comparing several plans for a cruise this was the best for us. I needed a couple of things changed after initial purchase and e-mailed the request. They made the changes and e-mailed me back the updated policy. Everything was good, thankfully no need to use it.

Insurance is one of those things that if you need it, it's worth every penny. If you don't you second guess buying it. But, had something gone wrong I would have surely been glad I had made the purchase.

It is good to know that you are covered for covered reasons listed on the policy. On this trip, a relative had to cancel the cruise because of a medical emergency the day before the cruise. You never know.

Plan provisions were fine for our purposes. We were traveling to foreign countries where we had relatives and knew the localities fairly well. Because we would be away for a month, we needed something that included medical.We had one unplanned doctor's visit due to illness and the expenses were fully reimbursed. It took some weeks and some extra emails/faxes to get the required information across, but the reimbursement came eventually, so no complaints. I would have no problem using this plan again.
