This plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt for one of the listed covered reasons. Generali Global Assistance Standard
The coverage was easy to understand and I feel that it was a value received. It gave me peace of mind knowing that if I needed assistance with a evacuation it was there. I did not have to use it but I know people in the past who have had health issues and did not have coverage so it gave me a piece of mind; I was quite relaxed about having the coverage while I was in Mexico.

Don't really have insight on the coverage or pricing, as this is the first time I've insured a trip and did not require any assistance or file a claim. Very pleased with our travel insurance plan. Originally purchased with wrong dates, and the company efficiently changed our dates (two days prior to trip) and even credited us a small amount.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
I purchased this insurance as my husband had been suffering with cancer for many months and I knew there was a possibility he would be too ill to fly and the trip would need to be cancelled. When I called to say I was cancelling I was told I could not because it was the result of a preexisting condition. My husband actually passed away on 1/31 so he definitely couldn't have made the trip. Obviously, I am very angry.

    As you had mentioned, the Generali Global Assistance Standard does have a Pre-Existing Condition exclusion. The definition per the certificate is as follows:

    "PRE-EXISTING CONDITION means a Sickness or Injury
    during the 180-day period immediately prior to your
    effective date for which you or your Traveling Companion:
    (1) received, or received a recommendation for, a
    diagnostic test, examination, or medical treatment; or
    (2) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine.
    Item 2 of this definition does not apply to a condition
    which is treated or controlled solely through the taking
    of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or
    controlled without any adjustment or change in the required
    prescription throughout the 180-day period before coverage
    is effective under this Policy."

I use Generali Global insurance 8 - 10 times a year, most trips are 2 to 3 weeks long.
I will continue to use Generali Global for my travel insurance.
