We've purchased from Travelex through InsureMyTrip the past few times we've sailed. I am particularly biased towards Travelex because their medical coverage is primary and not secondary. When I'm travelling out of the country, if we have a medical emergency I want it covered without any hassles and without having to deal with coordination of benefits. Most all insurance providers skimp and only provide the secondary coverage. Travelex is competitively priced with all the others, provides the primary coverage, and in general more coverage. Further Travelex is well known throughout the industry and extremely well rated and capitalized.
On our past trip, I did have a need to have our policy updated because the trip was a day longer than I had entered. Customer service was very easy to work with and they made the modification immediately without any problems.

It was the only company we found that provided helicopter rescue service, which was mandatory for the hike we were doing in the Alps.

We had scheduled a very expensive trip to the Arctic, but I had open heart surgery instead, which was a big surprise. Travelex was great and fairly prompt in paying the full amount of our coverage after a phone call or two.
Even though we didn't use it, I would strongly advise others to purchase cancel for any reason coverage and remind them that it is only good up to three days before the trip. Life is very unpredictable and there are a lot of exclusions in regular travel insurance, so buy the extra coverage.

We selected Travelex because it seemed to offer the broadest coverage at the most reasonable cost. However, the only way to judge travel insurance protection is if you file a claim and the insurer is responsive. Since we had no reason to file a claim, I can't judge the effectiveness of this insurance.

Fortunately, I have never had to file a claim with your coverages, but one woman on our sail had a stroke and had NO insurance, and I am sure the actions required to get her treatment and home were more difficult as she had no insurance, so I always think insurance is required for sailing trips and those that take me far from home.
